In times when the society is facing a crisis, writers should be able to speak for the society and stand for the betterment of the mankind. For this the writers should be down to earth and should be able to know the problems of the common man, said writer K.L. Mohanavarma while inaugurating Thoolika, the literature camp conducted by Kerala Catholic Youth Movement (KCYM).
“Writers should be able to write based on the current issues. The modern technology and media are helping the writers a lot and the writers in the younger generation should be able to make use of that,” he said.
In the inaugural meeting that was held in Renewal Centre, Kaloor, KCYM State president Aji Daniel presided over. State director Fr. Jaison Kollannur, Asst. Director Sr. Ancy Antony and other state leaders addressed the gathering. Young writers from different catholic dioceses in the state attended the two day programme.
