KCYM’s Train Journey Spreads Women Empowerment Message

On the occasion of World Women’s Day celebrations Kerala Catholic Youth Movement conducted a train journey conveying the message of women security. In the recent days many issues concerning the security and safety of women were reported in the newspapers. Now days we are witnessing lots of women coming to the forefront of the society in various fields. In this context the train journey conducted by KCYM State Committee spreading the message on women empowerment and safety measures to be taken while traveling in trains is of prime importance.

The sate team conducted the train journey splitting themselves in two teams. One team traveled from Ernakulam to Kannur, while the other traveled from Ernakulam to Trivandrum. The journey began from Ernakulam Juncction railway station at 9 AM. The team travelled in the train distributed pamphlets and other materials that emphasized on women empowerment, safety measures to be taken while traveling in trains.

Aji Daniel, KCYM State President inaugurated the train journey. Fr. Jaison Kollannur, KCBC Youth Commission and State Director of KCYM addressed the team members. Other KCYM State leaders, representatives and leaders from different dioceses accompanied the journey.
